Yes, there IS a dog under all that hair! Puddin's vet records from her post-sale checkup describe her coat as "overgrown and matted." As you can see, that was a bit of an understatement! The vet also noted that this six-year-old girl a bad hernia and a mouthful of rotten teeth that needed pulling. Her body language in this photo tells us that Puddin' was very apprehensive with new people and her new situation. She had no idea what to expect, but based on her past experience, figured it wasn't going to be good. She was in for possibly the first pleasant surprise of her life! Says a worker at the shelter where Puddin' is now in "rehab," "Puddin is by far the comeback kid of [our Thorp] dogs. She was horribly matted and terrified of any movement! She has since been groomed and is feeling much better. Puddin now shoves the boys out of the way (shes shacking up with the other poodles) to crawl into my lap. This little girl has so much potential! She is just bursting at the seams to let her newfound personality out! " |
